1. Do NOT Argue with the Police<\/strong> \ud83d\ude94<\/h2>\n

When emotions are running high, it\u2019s easy to feel the need to defend yourself or challenge the officer. However, arguing, resisting, or becoming aggressive<\/strong> will only make things worse. Officers may escalate the situation, and you could even face additional charges such as resisting arrest or obstruction of justice.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udd39 What to Do Instead<\/strong>: Stay calm, be polite, and comply with lawful orders. Anything you say can be used against you, so it\u2019s best to remain silent until you speak with a lawyer.<\/p>\n

2. Do NOT Admit Guilt or Give Statements<\/strong> \ud83d\uded1<\/h2>\n

Many people believe that explaining their side of the story will clear things up. Unfortunately, even an innocent statement can be twisted and used against you in court.<\/p>\n

If the police ask to search your car, home, or personal belongings, you have the right to refuse<\/strong> unless they have a warrant. Voluntarily consenting to a search can lead to unnecessary evidence against you.<\/p>\n
